A Sign From Above

Ashlyn and I just happened to walk outside yesterday afternoon and this is what we saw. It's got to be a sign from Heaven! I told Ashlyn that it was Mammaw Drum. Notice the aura in picture #2? How weird is that? And I love first picture with Ashlyn reaching up to for the rainbow!

Mommy............What did you DO????

Those were some of the first words that I heard this morning as we were pulling out of the driveway. Well ok not the first words. The first words were - hurry up, get in the car, we are going to be late, no I'm not going back in the house for that, Brennan quit throwing your food everywhere, Ashlyn help me. It's always total chaos in the mornings trying to get 2 kids ready with one crawling down the hallway screaming and one running around either being the happiest child you've ever met dancing and singing all over the place or the whiniest child on the face of the planet who you wouldn't be able to please even if had the biggest piece of chocolate known to man! Back to my story. As we were driving down the driveway I hear Brennan dumping his entire cup of dried strawberries and bannans in the floor so I turn around to look to se how bad the mess is and to tell him no when all of a sudden................BAM!!!!!!!!!!!! I face forward to see what has happen, and hear the little voice from Ashlyn. "Mommy, WHAT did you DO???" OH CRAP!!! We have a six foot fence around our backyard with a gate that encloses the driveway. I had just ran into the fence post that's connected to the gate and knocked it down! I put my car in reverse. Step out to take a look at the damage. My car isn't too bad off. It's pretty scratched up, and one of the lights is broken, but other than that there are not dents or anything like that. Now the fence is a different story. It looks pretty sad! I woke Britt up out of bed to come look at the mess that I had made and he could not believe that I had run into the fence. Really, neither can I! I feel like such a dummy! We just got our State taxes back last night too and I was looking forward to a little extra spending money since all of our Federal went to bills. Oh well, it looks like that check will be going to my car and fence repairs now. I'm such a ding dong!

Allergy Doctor

We had Brennan's appointment with the allergy doctor yesterday. He does have eczema, and she believes that he is having these bad flare ups due to some sort of allergy. Starting as of last night this is our new daily routine. Every morning and evening spritz the problem areas with water and then rub prescription derma oil onto his skin. Keep his body slathered with Eucerin cream as much as we possibly can. We have to switch him from Clariton to Zyrtec, 1/4 tsp in the morning and at night. Change his soap and shampoo to only Dove sensitive skin. Use free and clear detergents only and NO fabric softners. He goes back in one month for allergy testing. One thing that did stand out to her was the fact that we first noticed the rash on the day of his birthday party. We thought that it was from being out in the grass, but she seems to think that he could have an egg allergy. Egg allergies are pretty common in younger kids. She said that most of the time the first symptoms are noticeable at their first birthday because they dive into their cakes, which of course contain eggs. Some kids even end up going into anaphylactic shock and are taken to the emergency room to find out that their 1st birthday cake has caused them to have this serious reaction. Thank goodness Brennan's case is not this dangerous though. We'll find out in a month if this is even the case and if it is then we'll go from there. There are so many things that contain eggs, but we'll deal with it, and more than likely he'll grow out of it in a few years.

Friday Ramblings

I have been in the most silly and bitchy mood at work for the past week. I know that you are wondering how there can even be such a combination, but trust me there can! I think that I've just gotten to the point where I've had enough of the BS and I'm putting my foot down. The straw that broke the camels back was last Friday. We have a UPS pickup, which means that UPS comes by here every afternoon at 3:00 to pick up any shipments that we have going out. The label machine is in my office, so anything that goes out is brought to me. Well everyone knows what time UPS comes, but for some reason nearly every single day someone brings a package in my office after 3:00 to be shipped out. Then poor Robin has to run it by the UPS store on her way home because some dumb-ass can't have there crap together by 3:00. So Friday I had enough. Trevor was the poor soul who happened to walk in my office that day at 3:03 and boy did I let him have it! Side note - Trevor never, ever brings me anything to ship UPS, but he was the ONE on THAT particular day, so he got an ear full from me! Bless his heart! Then Sean, bless his soul too, brings me something to ship out. I made a very loud announcement to everyone that "starting NOW anything brought into my office after UPS has picked up can take it their damn selves! Robin is not responsible for something that you waited until the last minute to do!" I was FIRED UP! I threw a few more curse words in there. No one has seen the wrath of me like they did that day! At least now people know that they are not going to run all over me! It felt really good to tell it like it is! Those guys tucked there tails between there legs and ran like scared puppy dogs! Very Funny!
Have you girls checked out the new consignment store in Denver called Deja Divas? If not get in your car and go there NOW! It is like no other consignment store I have ever been to. It's set up like a fancy boutique...........but only it's consignment so it's CHEAP! Yesterday Robin and I went on our lunch break. I bought a Bebe top for $10, a pair of Steve Madden heels for $12, and BEST OF ALL.........................Y'all aren't going to believe this.............................A Dolce & Gabanna purse for $24! BELIEVE IT! I don't know if it's a knock off of the real thing, but it looks like the real thing and even if it is a knock off they still run around $100 or more! Run people! You have to go check out this AWESOME store!!!!
I have a great Soap Opera post that I will hopefully be posting in a few days! I have to wait to make sure that it's ok from a certain friend to post it first, but it will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!! STAY TUNED!!!!

Random Pictures From Girls Night

Me................In DESPERATE NEED of a glass of wine!

My two Bi-atches

Nothing better than a glass of wine when you've had a screaming baby for about an hour straight!

This picture of Ida is PRICELESS!!!
#1 She is not a dog fan and Rudy LOVES her! He gets on her lap every time she's over at our house!
#2 She looks like she's doing some sort of yoga pose
#3 I love the expression on her face! She looks like she's in deep Ida thought.

Hanna Montana!!!
Ida spends the night at least one night a week with me. Hanna comes over that night also for girls night. It's always one of the night's that Britt is working. We cook supper, have some wine, play with the kids.....................Just have us a GOOD OLE TIME!!!! Here's some pictures from this past weeks girl's night.

Pappaw and Brennan on the Lawnmower

Ashlyn's New Specs

Does she not look gorgeous in her brand new juicy couture glasses? I don't think that we could have picked out a better pair! She hasn't wanted to take them off since she's gotten them. I think they fit her to a tee!!!

Dance Class

Ashlyn's class was chosen to dance at Mayfest in Newton this coming Saturday, May 16th. Since the children are a little young Miss Treva invited the parents in for a viewing of some of their dances to shake their nerves off a little. Are they not the cutest kids EVER??? I love the little boy in Ashlyn's class! He is priceless! Hope you all enjoy the videos!

LOVED this Dance!!!

FEAR

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6483CqO_MM

Please take a few minuntes to view the video linked above. We used to have to watch this Terrible Tuesday video from Kindergarten to 6th grade. It has scarred me for life!!

Wednesday I was driving home from work when a huge funnel cloud twice the size of my house started forming about 100-200 yards away from the road that I was traveling on. I tried pulling out my camera to take a picture so that I could prove that I had a funnel cloud RIGHT BESIDE OF MY CAR!!!! I was freaking out! Having a panic attack more like it! The cars in front of me were running red lights to get out of this monsters way. I was not able to get a picture since I was scrambling like a bat out of hell to get out of there! Once I got on Hwy 27 in Lincolnton I literally could not breathe. I was blacking out. My knees were weak. But I was not going to pull over and let this tonado take me to OZ! I thankfully made it home!

Next blog I'll tell you about some of my worst fears.

The Eye Doctor

Today was Ashlyn's eye appointment. She does need glasses. Basically she has a pretty bad stigmatism in her right eye which is causing her distance vision to be blurred. The doctor felt that it was bad enough that she needed glasses for school. Soooooo...................we picked out her a pretty pair of glasses today, and wouldn't you know that Mommy picked out a pair of Juicy Couture glasses! Probably the most expensive pair in the bunch. ;) Oh well. They did look the best on her! I had no clue what brand they were when I picked them out. I thought they were Disney Princess because they have crowns on the arms of the glasses, but then the lady helping us corrected me and said "oh no. These aren't Disney. They are Juicy Couture." GULP!!! That is after she had already fit Ashlyn for them and written up the order. Well, she looks cute in them so it's ok! They really did look the best on her. I just hope and pray that she doesn't get picked on in school for having to wear glasses! Kids are so mean these days!
