Brennan's Rash

You need to click on the picture to get the full effect, but the camera just didn't capture the true sight of this horid rash on my baby's legs! I'm convinced that it's a grass allergy because his legs were covered this rash from his knees down to his toes, so it's obvious that he crawled around in the grass and then the rash broke out like wild fire.

Do you ever.....

Just get in those slumps???
You know the kind of days when you just feel like going to bed at 7:00pm and crying yourself to sleep just because???
This simply isn't possible when you have 2 children who are under the age of 5, but yesterday was just one of those days.
It was a beautiful day that started out nice, but on my drive home something triggered a memory of my Mammaw and the tears just began to flow. I think about her everyday, but yesterday was extremely hard on me for some reason! I miss that woman like crazy!!!
I was supposed to go to aerobics last night...........I didn't!
I was supposed to go to my Bible study last night............I didn't!
I played hookie on both! I was a slacker! I felt like being a slacker last night. Isn't it ok to do that every once in a while? Every now and then we just need to do that! I just needed some down time. Plus I'm my allergies are giving me a fit with all of this pollen! I love spring and hate it at the same time! Same with the rain............I hate it when it's here, but I'm doing a rain dance in my office right now wishing for a storm to come and wash all of this nasty pollen away!
I'm stressed! I need a vacation!
Ashlyn had a reaction to one of her FIVE shots. Mom took her back to the doctor yesterday after I called and spoke to the nurse and they were very concerned since she had a puss pocket in one of the shot areas and localized redness and knots. They started her on an antibiotic, and it's looking much better today. Then she goes to Graystone on Friday to find out if she needs eyeglasses for school. Brennan is more than likely going to have to have allergy testing done because EVERY TIME that he goes outside he gets these huge welts all over his body. Even if he doesn't touch the grass. Who knows what he might be allergic to.
Who's feeling a girl's beach trip in the near future?

School Pics

Doesn't she look so grown up?
I can't believe she starts Kindergarten this year!

Just look at my little prince charming! Such a cutie!

Ashlyn came up the stairs in this number yelling -
"Momma, Do I look good or what?"
Ida and I both agreed that this outfit is definitely Idafied!!!
Ashlyn is such a little fashionista!

Miss Brooklan all dressed up in her Tinkerbell dress.

Bounce House

Fun times in the backyard!
I highly recommend one of these!
My kids could have stayed in here for hours and hours!

Karma is a BITCH

Knowing that it was time for both A & B's immunizations I, being the smart one that I am, decided to schedule their appointment together on a Friday when Britt and my mom are off of work so that I did not have to be there to witness this dramatic ordeal. I thought that it was best to make Nana and Daddy be the bad guys and Mommy be the good guy. Don't tell me you wouldn't do this to people! Brennan, not so bad with the shots because he doesn't know they are coming, but Ashlyn...........she is FREAKIN' TERRIFIED OF THEM!!!!!! Today it took Britt and 2 nurses to hold her down for her 5 shots and Mom said that she was screaming bloody murder throughout the entire doctor's office. Bless her little heart! They did her eye exam and her hearing sreening. Her hearing was fine, but her eyesight was a little off. Her right eye was 20/40 and her left eye was 20/50. The doctor can't write off her paperwork for school if her eye sight is over 20/40, so she has an appointment at Graystone next Friday. Please pray that everything is ok with her vision. The doctor is also concerned with her weight. This to me is not that big of an issue, only because I was a stick when I was a child and I was perfectly healthy. Ashlyn eats NONSTOP! I believe that she is just a petite child. We have to take her back in 6 months for a weight check to make sure that she is gaining properly. So, after their day of shots, screaming fits, school screenings, and SUPER DOOPER DRAMA QUEEN BLOWOUTS. Here's where the Karma comes into play.
Chris C. came around to get the breakfast order for work. I work at a SPECTACULAR JOB where we go get breakfast every single morning! I'm surprised that I'm not 500 lbs by now! I went to pull my wallet out and it wasn't in my purse. I had left it in the diaper bag from last night when we took my dad out for his Birthday. So, Chris being the gent that he is offered to pay for my breakfast. Then I realized that I was meeting my friend Renee for lunch today and I had no money for lunch, so Gavin being the gent that he is lent me some money for lunch. Do I work with a great bunch of guys or what? THEN..............after breakfast Gavin walks in and tells me that I have a nail stuck in my tire. Great...........just Great! I just had 4 brand spankin' new tires put on less than 3 months ago! The nail wasn't in the tread it was in the outside wall so it couldn't be plugged, and remember I don't have any money on me because I forgot my wallet! Adam drives my car up to Jones Exxon and THANKFULLY they are able to patch it instead of me having to buy a whole new tire! Also, we have a company account there so they let me charge it on that since I have $0 dollars to my name! How sad am I? Then, no.....................it's not over yet. Since I'm one of the only ones in the office who can drive a straight drive I offered to take Brian's jeep to get his oil changed for him. I was feeling all cool with the top down, my shades on, the radio blasting. I must add that I have on an oh so cute tube top type dress today. After I had been at Valvoline for about 15 minutes I happened to look down and noticed that my dress had slid down to my belly button and my bra was completely exposed! I noticed that all of the guys were snickering about something. I'm sure that they all enjoyed their free peep show for the afternoon! How embarassing!
The day is still young so let's see what else God has up his sleeve today!

Just for this evening...

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishesin the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.
*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.
*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.
*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
*Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.
*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.
*I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.
*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day...............
Friends, I am so fortunate to have two beautiful, happy, healthy children! I love them more than words can ever express! As I read through other blogs and news stories of families with children who are facing huge medical obsticals I guess it is only fair to feel guilty for my happiness and the small things that we take for granted. I must admit that some nights I grumble under my breath when it is Ashlyn's bedtime because it is a HUGE 30-45 minute routine of brushing her teeth, reading a book (and I must say that I always try to get her to choose the shortest book possible. Don't tell me I'm the ONLY one who does this!), scratching her back, rubbing her back, holding her 10 times.............yes we have to count and make sure that I've held her snuggly EXACLY 10 times..............No my child does not have OCD! =), saying her prayers, making sure her bed is oh so neat and perfect (wonder who she gets that from????? Hmmmmm?????), tucking her in, giving her hugs and kisses over and over again, The "I need a drink of water" spill. Please don't misunderstand me. I LOVE spending time with my kids! I just think that sometimes we get caught up in the routine of things and we take so much for granted! I'm going to definitely try to stop taking all of small stuff for granted! I am so BLESSED!!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!

Easter

The Easter Bunny found our house this year, but he had to make two stops because Ashlyn stayed the night with her Nana Joyce since Reid and Alaina were in town Saturday night. That's why there are no pictures of Ashlyn's Easter goodies. Brennan definitely enjoyed his first Easter! Such a cutie-pa-tootie! Later that afternoon we went over to Aunt Barbara's for an Easter egg hunt with the other cousins. They all had a blast! It was a jam-packed weekend full of fun!

Brennan's 1st Birthday Party

I can't believe that Brennan will be 1 year old tomorrow!!! Thirty is NOTHING compared to my little man turning 1! I will definitely shed more tears over his first birthday than I will over me turning a measely thirty. Why??? Because we do not plan on having anymore children so he is my last baby. My last to hold love while I'm feeding him his bedtime bottle. My last to crawl up to me and hold his arms up waiting for his mommy to pick him up and give him a big mommy hug. My last baby! He's turning into a toddler, and it's all happening way too fast! Where did the past year go? I love you little man!! You'll always be my baby............even when you are old and gray!

SURPRISE!!!!!

Friday night Kellie and I were SHOCKED when we walked into Linebergers and saw a huge crowd who were there to help us celebrate our 30th birthdays with a SURPRISE birthday party put together by both of our sneaky husbands!!! We laughed the night away with stories of our childhood and some old movies that my parents put together. Leave it to Bob and Nancy! Kellie and I would like to have dug a hole and crawled in it and stayed for a while! SO EMBARASSING!!! Afterwards we all hit up Jokers. It was a great night celebrated with great friends and family!
Tomorrow I'll be the big 3-0. I swear it doesn't feel like I should be 30. I don't know what 30 should feel like, but I know that I don't feel old enough for 30! Ha! =) It feels like I was just out celebrating my 21st birthday yesterday. So here's to me and you Kellie! Love you twin! ;)
